Susie Krage has worked as a fiber artist for many years. She has recently switched from larger art cloth pieces to smaller more intimate stitched stories. The new work is hand stitched with recycled fabrics and a variety of threads involving many hours of work. Each complex piece is carefully assembled and stitched. Once completed, it is attached to stretcher bars and backed, ready for hanging..
Earlier work also told a story but was comprised of larger wall pieces. Techniques involved hand dyeing, silk screening, hand painting, applique and hand stitching.
